    What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a cutting-edge approach to healing that targets traumatic memories, unwanted beleifs, and distressing experiences at their core.

    But how does it work?

EMDR therapy is rooted in the understanding of how the brain processes and stores memories. When we experience trauma,

our brains often fail to properly process the event,

leaving us stuck in a state of distress and reactivity.

These unprocessed memories can continue to exert a powerful influence over our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, leading to a wide range of psychological symptoms.

During an EMDR session, the therapist helps the client access

these distressing memories while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation.

This can involve following the therapist's finger movements

with the eyes, tapping, or auditory tones.

These bilateral movements mimic the natural process of REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, during which the brain consolidates memories and processes emotional experiences.

As the client engages in bilateral stimulation, they begin

to reprocess the traumatic memories in a safe and controlled environment.

This process allows the brain to make new connections and associations, ultimately reducing the emotional intensity of the memory and freeing the individual from its grip.

Over time, EMDR therapy can lead to profound healing and transformation. Clients often report a significant reduction in symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD, as well as a newfound sense of empowerment and resilience.

Your brain is a powerful tool that guides your thoughts, emotions, and decisions, often in ways that operate beneath your conscious awareness.

It's common for unexamined negative beliefs to impose limitations on your life.

My techniques include hypnotherapy, NLP, EMDR, psychotherapy, Solution-focused therapy, and additional methods to facilitate transformative change.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is an up to date and modern approach. It is a forward thinking and positive form of talking psychotherapy (taking elements of SFBT, CBT and NLP), combined with guided relaxation techniques known as hypnosis.

The therapy is entirely neuroscience based and will get you feeling the very best version of yourself, and performing at your best!

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines both conscious and sub-conscious change.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a great tool to allow you to unlock that positive mentality, clarity of thought and confidence, supporting you to make positive changes and to create the life you want.
